How to Get Probate

After a Death

After a Jamaican dies leaving a will, the named executor must apply for a grant of probate at the Supreme Court. Where there is no will, the next of kin applies for Letters of Administration under the Intestates' Estates and Property Charges Act. Both applications typically require an attorney because of the technical evidence needed.
