The National Health Fund issues the NHF Card, which entitles Jamaicans to subsidies on prescription medicines for chronic conditions including diabetes, hypertension, asthma, arthritis, and depression. Apply at any post office or NHF office. Most Jamaican pharmacies accept the NHF Card. Jamaican-listed commercial entities are subject to oversight by the relevant regulator — the Bank of Jamaica for deposit-taking institutions, the Financial Services Commission for insurers, investment managers, and pensions, and the Office of Utilities Regulation for utilities.
