Jamaica's main public maternity hospital, founded in 1887 to mark Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee. Situated on North Street in downtown Kingston beside Kingston Public Hospital, 'Jubilee' is the largest delivery centre in the English-speaking Caribbean — tens of thousands of babies are born here every year. The hospital provides emergency obstetric care, high-risk pregnancy management, and neonatal services, and trains most of Jamaica's obstetricians and midwives.
