Floyd's Pelican Bar

Bar on Stilts · Treasure Beach

Rating: 4.7 / 5

Floyd's Pelican Bar is a driftwood shack built on stilts on a sandbar roughly three-quarters of a mile out in the Caribbean off Parottee Bay, on the St. Elizabeth south coast. Local boats ferry guests out from Treasure Beach, Parottee Point or Black River — the Parottee run is the quickest at around 10 minutes. Guests swim around the sandbar, snorkel, drink ice-cold Red Stripe and order fresh-cooked fish that is caught and grilled locally. Widely rated among the world's most unique bars. Cash only; open daily, weather permitting.

About nightlife in Jamaica

Jamaica is the home of reggae and dancehall — and its nightlife reflects that. Negril's Seven Mile Beach and West End cliffs are the spiritual centre, with Rick's Cafe sunsets, Bourbon Beach reggae nights, and Alfred's Ocean Palace. Montego Bay's Hip Strip lights up around Margaritaville, Pier 1, and Blue Beat. Kingston is where the real culture lives — Quad nightclub, Triple Century, and the legendary Sunday-night Uptown Mondayz street parties. Whether you want a beach bonfire or a packed dancehall, Jamaica delivers.
