Foreign nationals may freely purchase property in Jamaica — there is no general restriction. Typical requirements include a TRN (Taxpayer Registration Number), a Jamaican attorney for conveyancing, a deposit account at a Jamaican bank, and a title search and, where needed, a survey. Always use a RAJ-licensed broker and a General Legal Council-registered attorney. Expect the process to take three to six months from agreed purchase to registered transfer.
