Boston Bay Surf Lessons

Surf · Portland

Rating: 4.5 / 5

Boston Bay in Portland is one of Jamaica's most consistent Atlantic-facing surf spots, picking up swell for much of the year. A handful of local instructors — many of them members of the same surfing families who grew up on the bay — run beginner-friendly surf lessons and board rental directly from the sand, typically charging by the hour. The break is relatively forgiving by Atlantic standards and suits first-timers. Lessons combine naturally with a jerk lunch from the legendary Boston Jerk Centre stalls just above the beach.
