Green Grotto Caves

Show Caves · Discovery Bay

Rating: 4.4 / 5

Extensive show cave system on the north coast between Runaway Bay and Discovery Bay in St. Ann parish. Guided tours lead visitors through illuminated limestone chambers, past an underground crystal lake, and among resident populations of bats across several species. The caves were historically used as a hideout by Spanish colonists, by runaway slaves, and as a rum store during Prohibition, and they were famously featured in the 1973 James Bond film Live and Let Die. Daily tours depart from the visitor centre.
