200-acre botanical gardens on Old Hope Road in Kingston, established in the 19th century as the Castleton Annex and today the largest public green space in the English-speaking Caribbean. Hope Gardens contains a palm avenue, orchid house, cactus garden, seasonal flower beds, the famous Coconut Park playground, and shaded picnic areas, and is home to the adjacent Hope Zoo. Entry to the gardens is free and the park is a Sunday tradition for Kingston families.
