Port Antonio International Marlin Tournament

Annual Tournament · October

Rating: 4.6 / 5

The Port Antonio International Marlin Tournament has been run out of the Errol Flynn Marina each October for more than six decades, making it one of the longest-running blue-marlin tournaments in the Caribbean. Crews from Jamaica, the wider Caribbean and the US East Coast compete for cash purses and a strongly-defended reputation as the best blue-marlin event on the north side of the region. Conservation rules are strict — most fish are tagged and released. The event is central to Port Antonio's sporting calendar.

About fishing in Jamaica

Jamaica's deep waters hold blue marlin, wahoo, sailfish, mahi-mahi, and tuna. The Port Antonio Marlin Tournament every October is one of the longest-running deep-sea events in the Caribbean. Charter boats run daily out of Montego Bay, Negril, Ocho Rios, and Port Antonio. The Black River Safari in St. Elizabeth is the place for crocodile spotting and inland fishing. The fish markets at Old Harbour and Whitehouse sell the daily catch.
