Rocky Point, on the south coast of Clarendon parish, is one of the largest commercial fishing beaches in Jamaica, landing many hundreds of pounds of fish a day across the working fleet. Boats unload through the morning and the beach is a steady churn of ice, scales, crates and buyers, with much of the catch supplying central-Jamaica markets and kitchens. Not a tourist beach in any conventional sense, but worth a look for travellers curious about the scale of the country's commercial fishing.
