Rating: 4.5 / 5

A no-frills, open-air jerk pit on Montego Bay's Hip Strip that has been feeding locals, hotel guests and cruise passengers for decades. Pork Pit sits at 27 Gloucester Avenue under a canopy of shade trees, with picnic-table seating and pimento-wood pits smoking out front. The short menu is the point: jerk pork, jerk chicken, festival, roast yam and breadfruit, plus cold Red Stripe. It's one of the oldest continuously operating jerk centres in Mobay and remains a reference point for authentic, pit-smoked jerk. Open daily 11am to 11pm; 876-940-3008.
