Smurfs Café

Cafe · Treasure Beach

Rating: 4.5 / 5

Smurfs Café is a tiny family-run breakfast spot in Calabash Bay, Treasure Beach, run for many years by the Smurfs family. The short menu is built around farm-fresh eggs, toast, pancakes, callaloo, saltfish and papaya and banana from the garden, washed down with strong local coffee. Seating is limited to a handful of tables and service is leisurely in the true south-coast style — it is the sort of place you walk to rather than drive. A breakfast institution for Treasure Beach regulars.

About restaurants in Jamaica

Jamaican food is one of the most influential cuisines in the world — jerk, ackee and saltfish, curry goat, oxtail, escovitch, ital, festivals, and bammy. Scotchies in Montego Bay set the global standard for jerk; Boston Bay in Portland is where it was invented. Devon House in Kingston serves the world's best ice cream alongside legendary Norma's. Treasure Beach has Jakes and Jack Sprat. From cliff-edge Rockhouse in Negril to Houseboat Grill in Mobay, Jamaica's dining scene blends roadside perfection with world-class fine dining.
