Sugar Mill Restaurant

Fine Dining · Half Moon Resort

Rating: 4.7 / 5

Sugar Mill occupies the stone shell of a 17th-century working sugar mill in the grounds of Half Moon Resort at Rose Hall, east of Montego Bay. The restored waterwheel and mill tower provide one of the most atmospheric dining settings on the island — candlelit courtyard tables, exposed stonework and a menu of Caribbean-fusion fine dining built around fresh seafood, grilled meats and local produce. It is a regular choice for honeymooners and anniversary dinners, and open to non-resort guests by reservation. Dinner from 6:30pm; 876-953-2211.

About restaurants in Jamaica

Jamaican food is one of the most influential cuisines in the world — jerk, ackee and saltfish, curry goat, oxtail, escovitch, ital, festivals, and bammy. Scotchies in Montego Bay set the global standard for jerk; Boston Bay in Portland is where it was invented. Devon House in Kingston serves the world's best ice cream alongside legendary Norma's. Treasure Beach has Jakes and Jack Sprat. From cliff-edge Rockhouse in Negril to Houseboat Grill in Mobay, Jamaica's dining scene blends roadside perfection with world-class fine dining.
