Toscanini at Harmony Hall

Italian · Ocho Rios

Rating: 4.6 / 5

Toscanini occupies the garden wing of Harmony Hall — a restored 19th-century Methodist manse turned art gallery at Tower Isle, just east of Ocho Rios. The kitchen, led for many years by Italian chef Pierluigi Ricci, produces hand-made pasta, wood-grilled seafood, Italian classics and an Italian-leaning wine list, served on a verandah overlooking the gardens. It's a slower, more considered meal than most north-coast options and pairs naturally with a browse through the gallery. Lunch and dinner Tuesday to Sunday; reservations recommended.

About restaurants in Jamaica

Jamaican food is one of the most influential cuisines in the world — jerk, ackee and saltfish, curry goat, oxtail, escovitch, ital, festivals, and bammy. Scotchies in Montego Bay set the global standard for jerk; Boston Bay in Portland is where it was invented. Devon House in Kingston serves the world's best ice cream alongside legendary Norma's. Treasure Beach has Jakes and Jack Sprat. From cliff-edge Rockhouse in Negril to Houseboat Grill in Mobay, Jamaica's dining scene blends roadside perfection with world-class fine dining.
