Seven Mile Beach runs the length of Norman Manley Boulevard in Negril, Westmoreland, and is consistently ranked among the world's finest stretches of sand. Seven miles (closer to four by satellite, but famously branded at seven) of unbroken white sand meets calm, shallow turquoise water that rarely has waves, making it ideal for swimming, paddleboarding and long barefoot walks. The strip is lined with all-inclusive resorts, boutique hotels, beach bars and watersports operators offering jet ski, parasail and catamaran trips. Expect live reggae in the afternoons, jerk vendors in the evenings, and a sunset that draws the whole beach to the water's edge.

Address: Norman Manley Boulevard, Negril, Westmoreland
Seven Mile Beach (also called Long Bay) is Negril's famous 7-mile stretch of unbroken white sand backed by resorts, beach bars, and small boutique hotels. Locally it's just called 'the beach.' It runs along the west coast from Bloody Bay in the north down to the West End cliffs.
What to do
Swim in calm Caribbean water (no surf, ideal for kids), rent loungers at Margaritaville or any beach bar, parasail, jet ski, sunset cruise, walk the full length, eat at one of the dozens of beach bars (Sunrise Club, Ivan's, Rockhouse all have beach access).
How to reach it
Negril is 60-90 minutes from Sangster International Airport (Montego Bay) by taxi or shuttle. The beach is fully public — every hotel has its own section but anyone can walk the entire length.
About beaches in Jamaica
Jamaica is home to over 80 beaches strung along three distinct coastlines. The north coast — anchored by Negril's Seven Mile Beach, Doctor's Cave in Montego Bay, and Ocho Rios — is the world-famous resort strip with calm turquoise water. The east coast around Port Antonio hides the most dramatic coves: Frenchman's Cove, Winnifred Beach, and Boston Bay. The south coast offers laid-back local favourites like Treasure Beach, Bluefields, and Hellshire. From the cliff-jumping spot at Rick's Café to the secluded sands of Lime Cay, this guide covers every beach worth visiting.
