The Luminous Lagoon at Glistening Waters, just east of Falmouth in Trelawny, is one of only a handful of consistently bioluminescent lagoons in the world. Microscopic dinoflagellates in the water glow a bright electric blue when disturbed, and night tours run small boats into the lagoon where visitors can jump in and watch the water glow around their bodies. Trips depart after dark, typically from about 7pm, last around an hour and operate from the Glistening Waters restaurant, where dinner before or after is easy to arrange.
