Reggae Beach

North Coast · Ocho Rios

Rating: 4.5 / 5

Reggae Beach sits just east of Ocho Rios at Tower Isle in St. Ann, tucked along the north-coast highway and easy to reach from the Ocho resorts. It is a small, reef-protected cove with clear water, good snorkelling and a relaxed, tropical-garden vibe under sea grape and palm trees. A beach bar and grill serves jerk, rum punch and cold Red Stripe, and there is usually reggae drifting over the sand. The crowd is a mix of locals, day-trippers and guests from nearby hotels — quieter and more authentically Jamaican than the cruise-pier beaches in town.

About beaches in Jamaica

Jamaica is home to over 80 beaches strung along three distinct coastlines. The north coast — anchored by Negril's Seven Mile Beach, Doctor's Cave in Montego Bay, and Ocho Rios — is the world-famous resort strip with calm turquoise water. The east coast around Port Antonio hides the most dramatic coves: Frenchman's Cove, Winnifred Beach, and Boston Bay. The south coast offers laid-back local favourites like Treasure Beach, Bluefields, and Hellshire. From the cliff-jumping spot at Rick's Café to the secluded sands of Lime Cay, this guide covers every beach worth visiting.
