Rating: 4.8 / 5

The Calabash International Literary Festival is a free, biannual literary festival held in the small south-coast fishing village of Treasure Beach. Founded by the novelist Colin Channer and the poet Kwame Dawes, it brings together world-class writers, poets and musicians for three days of readings, conversations and performances on an open-air stage by the sea. Admission is free by design — part of the festival's founding commitment to accessible literary culture — and the event has developed an international reputation well beyond its size.
