The CARIFTA Games are the Caribbean Free Trade Association's annual youth athletics championships, contested since 1972 by under-17 and under-20 teams from across the Caribbean. Hosted in rotation by member nations, with Jamaica a frequent host and perennially dominant competitor, the Games have served as the first major international stage for a long list of Olympic and World Championship medallists — including many of Jamaica's sprinting greats. A key developmental event in Caribbean athletics.
