Established in 1978 and widely considered one of the most successful programmes of its kind in the Caribbean, the Women's Centre of Jamaica Foundation runs the Programme for Adolescent Mothers. It helps girls aged 17 and under who become pregnant continue their secondary education, by providing academic support, vocational counselling, childcare while they are in class, and reproductive-health education. The programme reports a repeat-pregnancy rate dramatically lower than the national average and has worked with close to 47,000 Jamaican teenage mothers over its lifetime. Multiple parish centres.
